Benefits of Regular Exercise
Working out... whether you hate it or love it, we can all agree that exercising offers some amazing health benefits. Exercise is defined as activity requiring physical effort, carried out to sustain health and fitness. To stay healthy, the Center for Health and Human Services recommends 150 minutes of moderate activity or 75 minutes of vigorous activity per week. Exercise can improve nearly every aspect of your life, and these are just a few:
Happiness- It has been proven that exercise can improve your mood and increase the production of endorphins, which help produce positive feelings
Health- Combats diseases and other health conditions, also increases muscle mass and builds bone density
Mental Health- Reduces anxiety, depression, and negativity, helps with self esteem and social withdrawal
Weight- Great for preventing weight gain, as well as maintaining weight loss
Relaxation and Energy- Exercise helps you sleep better at night, increases your alertness throughout the day, which in turn makes you more perceptive and awake.
Sometimes, it can be hard to incorporate exercise into your everyday life, but there are strategies to make it part of your daily routine: track your progress, do it with people you enjoy being around, substitute activities just in case something happens, and try to make the most of it and have fun!
